It was seven years ago when Iberia doubled its success in the capital markets by launching a €490 million securitization to finance its purchase of 17 narrowbody Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
After Iberbond 1999, a portfolio securitization of six A320s, Iberbond 2000 marked the first time tax leases were used in enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs) outside the US. Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Crédit Lyonnais and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (BTM) were lead managers of the securitization.
With the refinancing of Iberbond 1999 complete, Iberia is focusing on Iberbond 2000 and has just finished the first refinancing of one A320 in the portfolio. The aircraft in the portfolio mature at...
