Corporate Jets: Arriving in style

The world of corporate jets is often associated with a niche market of wealthy business moguls, sports stars and entertainers, but the market is growing quickly and is becoming far less exclusive – opening up opportunities for financiers.
One former financier who believes in the market is Domhnal Slattery, former head of aviation capital at RBS. Slattery, who established RBS Aviation Capital in 2001, is investing in JetBird, a new corporate jet carrier, through Claret Capital, a private equity fund he runs.
Slattery's colleague, Paul Geaney, who also hails from RBS Aviation Capital and moved within the company to create the RBS Corporate Jet Capital business in 2004, has responsibility for Claret's aerospace ventures. Claret Capital has arranged equity financing for JetBird in a deal that closed in May.
