A leasing expert reviews ILFC's 35-year anniversary bash
Dear Airfinance Journal, I have just returned from the ILFC 35-year anniversary party. Like many other guests, I felt that I had to attend to show support for Steve and his team. I feel that ILFC are the victims in this financial mess.
Steve Hazy and his wife Chris greeted us at the entrance to the Udvar-Hazy Museum in Washington. The Centre is testament to the generosity of Steve and his family. The greetings took some time with 870 guests attending. The invitees were the who's who of the aviation world. If only ILFC could have sold tickets on Ebay they could have repaid some of AIG's $700bn debt (lots of people tried very hard to get on the guest list)!
After a photo call, we were funnelled into a recreation of a 1956 Budapest, Hungary's capital city...
