787 delays to have far-reaching legal ramifications

A report by Bird & Bird says delays to the 787 and 747-8 will lead to legal disputes and compensation claims, with the knock-on impact being felt by an expanding circle of parties.

The production delays to the 787 and 747-8 will give rise to far-reaching legal ramifications, according to a report published by Bird & Bird.

The delays will see airlines claiming compensation from Boeing for pre-delivery payments (PDPs) which will now have to be renegotiated and rescheduled.
