George Ackert joins Evercore Partners to build its transportation & infrastructure advisory business

Former managing director at Merrill Lynch, George Ackert, has moved to boutique investment bank Evercore Partners to establish the firm’s transportation and infrastructure advisory practice.

The team, which will be headed by six senior officers, will focus on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and general advisory. “There’s a role for an independent advisor with deep industry expertise,” says Ackert, senior managing director, Evercore Partners. “We plan on filling that void.”

It will be a change for Ackert, moving from a Wall Street investment bank to a boutique advisory firm. “I will continue doing what I was doing. But, I will focus dramatically less on providing the financing (which is where I spent half of my time) and focus...
