Qantas cancels and defers 30 787 orders

The Australian flag carrier cancels 15 787 orders and delays delivery of a further 15, days after Boeing said it was again postponing the aircraft’s first flight.

Qantas has cancelled 15 787 orders and delayed delivery of a further 15 in the same week that Boeing said it was again postponing the first flight of the long-awaited Dreamliner.

The Australian flag carrier cancelled orders for 15 787-9s, which were due to be delivered in 2014/15, saving the company $3 billion based on current list prices. The airline also delayed delivery of 15 787-8s by four years.
