The first day of the 6th Annual AirFinance Latin America Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, kicked off with a rainy start, but the region’s airline industry is shining brightly. As the only region to have reported a profit in 2009, manufacturers, financiers and airlines continue to be upbeat about the region’s future growth.
Airline consolidations, export credit, infrastructure improvements, and the effects of Mexicana’s bankruptcy were among the top issues discussed at the conference held at the Sofitel Copacabana Hotel. Panel speakers also praised Brazil’s robust position in the aviation industry.
