BOC Aviation orders 15 Embraer jets

The Bank of China-owned leasing company is the latest lessor to buy Embraer’s large regional aircraft.

BOC Aviation has a signed a firm order for 15 E190s. The aircraft will deliver between the fourth quarter of 2012 and 2014.
A spokeswoman for BOC Aviation says the E190 is applicable to different business models, from low–cost carriers to regional carriers and mainline carriers operating feeder flights like Lufthansa and British Airways.
"It will also be good for thinner routes in Asia that do not require A320s or 737s," says the spokeswoman.
